Happy Olympics Opening Cermony Day

One guess as to what we’ll be watching in our home tonight…

The opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London. I’m so excited! Are you? So far, the 2008 Beijing opening ceremony has been my absolute favorite. It was ridiculously amazing—all those drummers, LED lights, air acrobats, and fireworks. If you have to be reminded of just how amazing it was, check out this video recap on YouTube.

I really don’t see anyone topping Beijing for awhile. (Their birds nest stadium was also pretty cool). However, I imagine the Londoners will give it a good shot. If nothing else, they could always just throw the camera-loving Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the screen.

As for which sports I’ll be watching over the next few days–the gymnastics and track competitions are my favorites, by far. I’ll probably also catch some of the swimming, synchronized swimming and diving competitions. What about you? What’s on your list of must see Olympic games?

GO TEAM USA!

My girls have loved the Olympic stuff…but seem even more incredulous that there actually is a “Queen/Princess” in our world today. They’re asking me to show/tell them more and more each day. :)

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! We will also be tuned in. They Olympics are definitely must-see TV for me. Gymnastics, swimming, diving, track and field are my favorites. I especially love the medal ceremonies and the playing of Star Spangled Banner.

I see we’re on the same page. Unfortunately, my family didn’t seem to catch the importance of the Olympics opening ceremony, so we ended up watching Team Umizoomi and Rangers baseball. Thank goodness for DVR!

I will definitely be watching the Olympic opening tonight. My fav will be men’s basketball and all around swimming.

I agree about Beijing. Just watching the recap on TV last night was awesome. I’ll be watching women’s basketball, track and field (men and women), and gymnastics. I’ll also be checking out the features they do about London since that’s one of the destinations on my bucket list.

    Go USA!!!
