Geesh, where’d the time go??? I’m inching ever closer to my self-imposed end of summer deadline for finishing up baby girl’s room. September 21st is the big day. There’s still quite a bit of work to do, but I am making tortoise-pace progress.
I figured out what to do with my rolled ribbon flowers. This little piggy bank won’t look like the Dollar Tree bank that it is when I get through.
I made some girly basket tags. (The Doodling 101 class came in very handy). Total cost $0. I upcycled these Dollar Tree baskets that I used at her 1st birthday party. Plus, I’d already had the tags and ribbon.
I’ve been priming furniture. Can you believe this table was only $8 from Ikea. I can’t wait to show you what I have planned for it.
I also found these cute baskets at Home Goods for baby girl’s dolls. I need to go back and reinforce them though, because she’s quite rough when pulling out her toys. (Side note: That pair of beanie babies was a gift from my grandmother right before my wedding. It makes me so happy that their among Christiana’s favorite toys since they never had a chance to meet.)
And most importantly, I started painting the ceiling. Can I just say that climbing to the top of a 10 foot ladder definitely tests your fear of heights.
I’m so glad that everything is finally coming together. That’s as much of a sneak peak as you’re getting for now. If you want to see more, you can either join me for a paint party or wait for the big reveal in a few weeks.
By the way, how are your summer projects coming along? Slow as molasses like mine, by any chance?

Wow. What did people do before they had so many resources to share ideas on what is cute? :) These look great. As far as summer projects…I’m still trying to pretend it’s too hot to clean the garage. So far…..:) Although we did get “Approved” by the state for our adoption…that was definitely on our checklist!!! :)

Congrats on getting through the adoption process. I’ve read heart-wrenching posts from bloggers with a real desire to adopt but have to face really drawn out waiting periods.
By the way, I really like the it’s too hot to clean the garage logic. I’m just wondering why I didn’t think of it myself.
I feel like I’m watching HGTV!! Can’t wait to see the AFTER pics!!
I saw those baskets at Home Goods! What a great idea! I am finishing up our baby girl’s nursery! I just bought a rug and hamper there over the weekend!

Nurseries are really fun! You’re rocking it if you get it ll finished before baby comes. Quite impressive.
Toooooooo cute Kacey! I’m glad to hear you are putting to good use what grandma gave you (something good to share with Chrissy).
I think you are one of my most awesome friends!!! Can I be like you when I grow up?
You’re funny! I’ll take the compliment though I’m sure I could come up with a list of way more fabulous folk.
Can’t wait to see the finished product!!!
Me too! I’m really making my decorating plan up as I go so it’ll be interesting to see how it comes together.
